Setenay Erkul Architects is an Istanbul-based design studio that develops projects at various scales. The studio approaches the design process with a collaborative mindset, fostering open exchange of ideas both within the team and with clients.
Since each project is tailored to the client’s needs, environmental conditions, and site-specific characteristics, every outcome possesses a unique identity and appearance.
The design process goes beyond initial requests and spatial-functional layouts, evolving through continuous dialogue with the client at every stage. In each project, aesthetic concerns are addressed meticulously, aiming to achieve a harmonious balance between visual appeal and functionality. The studio is committed to realizing each project with high-quality craftsmanship and rigorous project management.
Setenay graduated from the Department of Architecture at Haliç University in 2012. She completed her Master of Arts (MA) in Interior Design at Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan. After working as a designer and project lead on numerous internationally recognized projects in both Milan and Istanbul, she founded Setenay Erkul Architects in 2023.
Nefin completed her architecture degree at Kadir Has University in 2019. Between 2020 and 2023, she pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Urban Design at Politecnico di Milano. Following various internship experiences in Italy and Germany, she became involved in the founding process of Setenay Erkul Architects.
